Spanish An American Language: A Shared History

This event has reached capacity.

Spanish language can at times cause division: are we fluent, conversational, do we speak a “pocho” version of Spanish, or do we not speak it all? Regardless of our use of the language, interestingly, it is the language that most deeply roots us in this nation as Americans. We explore the 500 year collaboration behind the Spanish language in the U.S. that not only makes it an American language but carries with it our unique US Latino identity rooting us in the founding of the nation.
